Animal Scents Pet Shampoo is a natural shampoo that contains five therapeutic grade essential oils. It is very gentle shampoo and is highly concentrated. Use it to keep coat clean and shiny, and deter unidentified flying things especially in the summer!

I love to use Animal Scents as a natural horse shampoo as well. Keep coat clean and beautiful without harsh chemicals.

What is in Animal Scents Shampoo?

There are several natural ingredients as well as essential oils in Animal Scents Shampoo.

The natural ingredients include:

• Demineralized Water
• Saponified Oils of Coconut and Olive Oil
• Aloe Vera
• Rosemary Extract

The essential oils are listed below along with a brief description of each oil.

• Lavandin Essential Oil (Lavandula x hybrid) has soothing and calming properties. Used to soothe and cleanse.
  
• Lemon Essential Oil (Citrus limon) consists of naturally occurirng  limonene. It has cleansing and purifying properties.
  
• Geranium Essential Oil (Pelargonium graveolens) helps you relax and beatify your skin.
  
• Spikenard Essential Oil (Nardostachys jatamansi) is known for its spiritual significance. It acts as a skin tonic and soothes the mind and body!
  
• Citronella Essential Oil (Cymbopogon nardus) use it around the house and barn and bring on your camping trip. Popularly used as a deterrent.

This product was revised in December 2016. In the revised formulation, Spikenard was deleted and the following oils were added:

• Northern Lights Black Spruce Essential Oil (Picea mariana) is grounding yet uplifting inspiring us to reach the sky and live our potentiality.
• Vetiver Essential Oil (Vetiveria zizanioides) brings you back to nature. It is a grounding oil and is one of the oils that is highest in sesquiterpenes.
  
• Citronella Essential Oil (Cymbopogon winterianus) is the java type oil. It's contains higher concentrations of geraniol and citronellal which have shown deterrent type properties.

How Do I Use It?

Apply a small amount into palm and rub between hands. Apply to animal. Lather and rinse. For horses I will place a 1/2 to full cap in a small bucket of water for cleaning.

Can this Product be Used for Animals? Yes, designed for them!

Note about animals: Certain oils can be very toxic to cats. Citrus products and oils in particular that are not of therapeutic grade! Please consult your vet if you are not sure about applying any essential oil to your pet.

I add in a 1/4 to 1/2 capfull of Ortho Sport or Ortho Ease to Animal Scents Shampoo for a horse liniment bath for my horses.
